The Guardian reviews Fulcrum’s new Akerman Health Centre

Late in 2012 South London Health Partnership opened the Akerman Health Centre for Lambeth Clinical Commissioning Group.  The Akerman Centre serves the Myatt’s Field area of Lambeth, one of the most deprived parts of south London.  It was designed by the award-winning practice Henley Halebrown Rorrison and is a magnificent new building where GPs and other community health professionals come together to care for local people.  They provide a wide range of health services including midwifery, dentistry and sexual health care.

In January 2013 The Guardian published a detailed article about the new building, its architectural merits and the aspirations to improve local health care behind this £13m investment.

“It’s like a slice of heaven” said one employee. “The patients love it and now I come to work with a smile on my face.”
