Health Service Journal – the work of Fulcrum’s Strategic Asset Management Team
One of the most important services that Fulcrum provides to local NHS organisations is support from our Strategic Asset Management (SAM) Team. The team’s work is described in an article in the Health Service Journal in October 2012.
We understand that modern and properly used buildings can make a big contribution to effective services, but too often the estate is a problem and holds back local clinicians. The Fulcrum SAM team helps find ‘locked up’, wasted or under-utilised resources and puts them to work for better health care.
In Halton & St Helens, the Fulcrum SAM team worked with local health care organisations and showed how they could reduce their estate by 47%, free up £5m of capital and reduce running costs by 16%.
Fulcrum sees its role as long-term partner for NHS clients. John Garrett, Head of Estates at NHS Merseyside said: “(Fulcrum) have become much more than just the people who built us a new building; they have become the people who help us manage and develop the estate and move forward.”Download full article >
